This is a very good scope and I own three IOR 35mm tube diameter scopes. They make a really good product. The optics are very clear and the magnification range is awesome. The target dot in the middle of the reticle is great for fast acquisition on close in targets. IOR has recently made a front focal plain version of this scope for a group of shooters with larger exposed knobs. What I believe would take this scope from good to excellent would be to take the 3-18 scope, the front focal plain reticle, the exposed knobs and add a modified MP-8 reticle with MOA hash marks. If this scope existed I could buy two of them for what I am spending on the US Optics scopes that I have been buying when I need “The Perfect Scope”.

Best scope for the money for 7.62x51 Long Range shooter. I have mine mounted on a custom Springfield M1A with IOR rings & Smith Enterprises 3-point mount. MP8 reticle is one of the best, better than plain Mildot. IOR scopes are better than Leupold and Nightforce and just as good as Schmidt & Bender. This is a great scope for a custom autoloader like the M1A. The wide, variable Field Of View (FOV) of the 3 to 18 range gives the shooter of a Tactical/Battle rifle like the M1A the ability to pick-up short range to long range targets with a twist of the power ring. If I owned a 300 WIN MAG or .338 Lapua bolt gun, I'd move up to the 9-36x56.
